Weekend 2
Spent the weekend in Witney catching up with a few friends. Also watched two films: – Revolutionary Road. Pretty good, some good messages and some really good scenes. Despite how good Winslet’s acting – it still really annoys me when … Continue reading
The Dark Knight
Wow, wow, wow and wow! What a great film, dark and sinister. And a reasonable story to go with it. However – Heath Ledger just blew everybody out of the water with his acting; I wouldn’t actually call it acting … Continue reading
00 Heaven
The new Bond looks pretty good. Appears to be in a similar style to Casino Royale. Trailers over here. Only problem is that I have to wait until the 31st October for it.

Lorenzo’s Oil
Sad to hear that the boy who was the basis for the film, of the same name, has died. A really good emotional film, all apart from Nick Nolte’s exceedingly annoying accent.
A Different Indy Experience

Untraceable
Just watched this at the Hoyt’s Cinema in Dunedin (Gaelic for Edinburgh… who knew? There’s also a statue of Robbie Burns here). It’s just about watchable. Kind of a mixture of The Net and the Saw. The preview of Hell … Continue reading
Juno and Once
I watched Juno on the flight from Fiji to Auckland. It’s a great film, very Garden State-esque – leaving you with a smile on your face and lots of laughs. The main actress is superb, bit like Natalie Portman in … Continue reading
Indy
The new Indiana Jones film is looking good, can’t wait for it to come out. Trailer here. As long as it’s better than the Temple of Doom, I’ll be happy; if it’s better than Raiders, then I might just pass-out.
Nice and Nasty
My weekend was really good (apart from England being rubbish at rugby). Dropped into Witney to meet up with a friend, for a half day of drinking on Saturday. Sunday was very enjoyable – went into Oxford and watched one … Continue reading
Hobbit
Well, finally looks like the wrangling has been sorted and Peter Jackson will be making The Hobbit. What I can’t figure out – is why it’s going to be two films? Wringing the most money they can out of cinema-goers? … Continue reading
