1300km and this is the furthest north that I intend on going. Going to circle around, then head south for the next week or so, till I get to Grizzly Bear Ranch. Would like some company.

Drove out to Barkerville today, about a 160km round-trip. Drove past some nice lakes and stopped at one - though always reluctant to walk too far, due to being on my own and knowing about bears and cougars!! It’s the site of one of the major gold-rush areas (I’m driving along the Gold Rush Route).

Today finds me having driven 1100km so far. My Buick’s suspension is like a bouncy castle, quite amusing.
A big deer ran out in front of a car in front of me, on the highway. You don’t just run over rabbits here - YOU get run over by the wildlife!
Wow!

England into semi-finals of World Cup! Cannot believe it. Tried to find it on the 50 channels of rubbish on TV this morning, but all you get is baseball, hockey, Dr Phil and What not to wear.
Drove out to Loon Lake today - very pretty, lots of B&B next to the lake. Passed a sign that said “Do not feed the bears”.

Now at Salmon Arm, British Columbia. It’s quite a small town at the bottom of some big mountains (that have snow on them). I hope the snow stays above 1700m, as one of my trips goes through a pass at 1100m. I hope my ancient Buick can cope with it.
Whilst on the car subject - I managed to pop the bonnet, instead of release the foot-break (bit like a hand-brake), right in front of some police…. good job I’d stopped, otherwise it could have got interesting.
