Well - I bit the bullet and flew out to S.F. L.A was not my cup-of-tea really. Far too superficial - Hollywood, Beverly Hills etc.I’m now staying in quite a trendy hotel - my room is bigger than my old flat in Worcester. And the exciting news - we felt an earthquake (5.6 on the scale) that was in San Jose here. The room rumbled for about 10 seconds, bit like a big truck going by.
Another picture from Canada, that my host sent to me:

Well, the flight was two hours late taking off from Vancouver and I was at the airport three hours early (had to checkout of hotel). Not a good start.
Then on arrival into LA Terminal 3 - our bags took over an hour to arrive in baggage-reclaim. The hotel is pretty cool though customhotel.com. Public transport is awful! Think I’m going to go to San Francisco tomorrow, as LA hasn’t made a great impression on me.

Back in Vancouver from Meadow Creek (saw my last grizzly crossing a river, on the trip back). Fly out to Los Angeles today. I have no idea what I’m going to do in California, as I’m not sure what will be open (due to the fires).
Chinese lady in the restaurant kept asking “you want t-shirt later?” and I didn’t undersand what she was saying, until I twigged she was asking “you want dessert later?”. I found it amusing anyway.

We didn’t see anymore bears yesterday, or this morning when we went out. We were treated to some bear activity though, by a biologist/environmentalist who is staying with us. He showed us - bear day-beds, a bear highway, a new beaver dam, bear scat and finally a bear rub-tree.

If Earth took seven days for a god to make, how long did the other planets take for a god to make? How about the other stars in our galaxy (Milky Way)? How about the other galaxies in our universe? How about other universes that might be out there?

Saw three grizzly bears this morning. Two of them were pretty shy (a good thing, for them) and the other one was amazing. She walked across the road in front of us, climbed up a small slope - then lay down between two trees. This was about 20m from the truck, so we got a really good look at her.

Beginning to wonder if going to California next week is a good idea, considering all the fires that are going on there at the moment. I fly into Los Angeles, which appears to be ok - so hope the fires don’t spread from Malibu/San Diego any further.
Off to see grizzly bears today (wolves have also been spotted). Can’t wait!
(currently in Kaslo)

Yesterday wasn’t a fun day. Started to travel to Princeton (from Merritt) and it was snowing, so decided to change direction, back to Kelowna. Only problem was - the road went up to 1700m and entered the snow-line. I can’t say it was a fun experience driving in snow, when your car doesn’t have snow-tyres, or snow-chains. It has rained since I got into Kelowna, though it looks like it’s starting to clear-up now.

Amazing car-journey from Prince George, via McBride, to Clearwater. You travel between three differrent mountain ranges - Cariboo/Columbia and the Rockies.
Clearwater was the best so far. Yesterday I went out to see some waterfalls in Wells Gray Park and saw a sign for a flying business… so I went out in a Cessna plane (3 seats + pilot) and flew over lakes, mountains, volcano craters, waterfalls….. it was fantastic! Still smiling now
McBride was bizarre - spent the afternoon drinking beer and watching Hot Shots Part Deux, with a Swedish Canadian old bloke. Was funny both sharing a laugh!
