This is a great place to come to get back to nature. The drive off the main road is interesting, certainly one I wouldn’t want to do in rain or snow.

Got into Vancouver on Wednesday at 6pm, after not sleeping much on the plane (the usual fighting for the arm-wrest etc). Did a bit of sightseeing yesterday and had a a good meal. Lots and lots of construction, road-works going on at the moment.

Keep waking up at 1am local time (9am BST), but have managed to get back to sleep. Going further up in B.C today, to Beaver Lake Resort.

Some advice, that I’ve discovered:

- if you book your flights on Expedia or similar, it’s sometimes much cheaper to go directly to the airline and book. I looked up a flight in Canada on Expedia…. look on aircanada.com and the flight was √Ǭ£100 cheaper.

Ah the mysteries of life. Such as why do my iPod headphones always tie themselves up in a knot; why do I always choose the wrong headphone (left/right) to put in my ear first?

20/20 cricket.

Rugby World Cup. I take my hat off to Jason Robinson, the only player that was up for the game. Gutted that it looks like he’s got a hamstring injury, as that would be the end of his England career.

God, I hate visiting websites that I hardly ever use (airmiles.co.uk etc) to update my address details. I can never remember usernames, passwords or even security questions (sometimes I put in rubbish for mother’s maiden name, as I don’t like giving those details - as they are the same as my bank account questions, for example).

What sends tingles down your spine? I’ve found a new one for me - somebody tuning a piano.

I spent the weekend in Witney, catching up with friends, playing poker and going to the cinema (watched The Bourne Ultimatum). I even managed some “dancing” at iZi, which I’ve been reluctant to do before. It’s still a haven for drunken kids.
