Plus.net really have messed up with their e-mail systems. Their Webmail service was hacked (somehow) and lots of e-mail addresses are now in the hands of spammers. Great, that’s all I need. I’d move, but there doesn’t appear to be a reputable broadband ISP anymore.

Driving back on the M25 today, I realised that I wasn’t going to make it all the way without stopping for petrol. So - I took a detour to Rickmansworth. Sheesh! Soon as I got off the motorway I was stuck in a queue to get off the motorway, then I was stuck at roadworks, then I couldn’t find a garage in Rickmansworth. The petrol gauge was beyond empty now….. luckily I took a turn that led me to a garage. Did I also mention that I was dying for a wee?

I really like the keyboard on the MacBook pro, all apart from the tiny return key.

I’m writing this blog from my bedroom It hasn’t taken long to get used to my new MacBook Pro. Could do with a mouse, as the touch-pad is taking too long to get used to. But - my mobile worked straight off and I can synch with it. I can read my USB external hard disk, so all my music is now on my iPod as well. Everything, pretty much, is easy to do. Must start remembering the Apple shortcut-keys.

The only thing that did disappoint me was the fact that it’s a brand new laptop, yet when I connect to the internet - 250MB of updates are downloaded as well.

So far this week: badminton, pool, tennis and tonight is squash. Tennis is quite a different arm-action to squash and badminton - been fifteen years since I played tennis!

My resignation was announced to the company today and I got some really nice e-mails from people. So much so - that I had tears in my eyes responding to them. God, I’m going to be a mess when I do actually leave.

I got asked by a nice police-lady for directions, on my walk home today. I thought that was quite amusing.

Have been reading a book about digestive health and it’s making quite a lot of sense - quite strange for an American book on diets.
It might just be psychosomatic, but my bloating seems to be decreasing and breathing seems to be getting easier.

Was stood behind some Essex-based businessman (based on his accent) who was all “SPC this… get the DD on Steve and make sure you get his buy-in, get him on-side and the business is as good as done. I’ll have an off-line with Graham and we’ll bang some heads together….”, sorted. The language of business sales is amusing: blue-sky thinking; rock-and-a-hard-place; run-it-up-the-flagpole; have an off-line.

Europe-> Moscow-> Beijing/Mongolia->Thailand/Laos-> Oz->New Zealand
for the first part.

Learn Spanish (Spain probably) for a month, then go to South America for three months.

Maybe bits of Canada thrown in somewhere.
