Why do people think it strange when I mention something that I have observed about somebody? I said to a colleague that somebody had small feet and they were bemused that I should say this. I think it is called making conversation, but hey - not one of my strong points, as observed in other posts.

I’m tempted to get one of these planes. Not sure where I’d park it, or get the spares - but it’s tempting.

We have a new contender to Ray Mears. I remember seeing a program about the French Foreign Legion maybe a year ago and recognised him last night, in his new show - Born Survivor on CH4. Takes much bigger risks than Ray and is not as methodical in telling you about survival techniques as Ray. Though on the other hand - it’s pretty amazing what you can do with just a knife and your own skills, knowledge and determination. I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

It flies! Just wish there was more 64 bit software about. Managed to locate versions of Firefox and Thunderbird that have been compiled for 64 bit Windows.
A screenshot of Task Manager, running Thunderbird, Internet Explorer (64), Windows Media Player and an FTP download client (downloading 64 bit Suse).

Strange that one core is getting more use than the other. I haven’t seen either core get anywhere near 100% usage, even when converting my mp3 collection to Ogg format.
Microsoft have, however, failed on a couple of areas:
- Genuine Windows validation doesn’t work, nor do most ActiveX controls in IE 7 - have to keep reverting to using 32 bit IE 7. Doh.
- Vista upgrade advisor won’t run on XP 64.

Shouldn’t be writing anything in this condition, surprised I can even type. Oh no I’ve said too much, I haven’t said enough.
A picture from the archive that proves that rain drops are circular, not pear-shaped:

In the picture - Dean and Corinna (sorry for spelling!) at one of Wales’ Seven Natural Wonders - Pistyll Rhaeadr. The main waterfall is further to the left.

Finally up and running with new PC, after a few days of pain with original motherboard that wouldn’t work with any of my keyboards. It’s now back with Scan for a refund. I now have an Asus one, which has way too many connectors! Wi-fi is handy as well, if only I had some Wi-fi devices…. Nabaztag…. maybe
