reciprocal actions

Newton’s Third Law:

“All forces occur in pairs, and these two forces are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.” - or every force exerts an equal and opposite force. How come the opposite force does not also have a reactionary force and so on ad infinitum? Thus creating a positive-feedback mechanism.

dismal rugby

Pretty dismal performance from England at the weekend, though I was kind of expecting it - given the form of Ireland.
I could not believe the Scotland Italy game - how exactly did Italy score three tries in the first seven minutes?!

A picture from Six Nations a year (or two?) ago - England vs Italy.

The Fray

You will probably know ‘How To save A Life’ by The Fray already. I’m on my second listen of today and it’s still ok. Might take it on the four hour drive home, to see if it’s a grower or not.

Can’t beat a game of family cricket on the beach.

The harbour near my parents’ home (2 minute walk)

Time for a visit soon, especially with Mother’s Day coming up. They’ve purchased a new PC, which I will probably have to tinker with, to get them properly set up and protected.

Here are some panorama pictures, taken with Canon Ixus II. I used Canon Photostitch (I think) to put the pics together.

Panorama 2

For some reason, after upgrading Wordpress, it won’t create thumbnail pictures of these, hence just the links above. I’ve done some tinkering with the theme and utilised one of the panorama pictures.

Here’s a lake:

It did have ducks on it, but you can’t see them very well.

Intel

The new CPUs have changed (I’ve been out of PC building for years) - there are no longer any pins on the CPU itself, they’re on the motherboard socket - which makes me wonder what kind of contact the pins are making to the pads on the bottom of the CPU. We’ll see what happens when I power it up later on.

new monitor

My new monitor is really nice. Have to swivel my head from side to side, to see each edge of it.

Here’s a screenshot of C# Express:

Music

I really like Belleruche (www.belleruche.com). They’ve been to The Cellar in Oxford a couple of times. It’s impossible not to boogie to them!

why is it selfish?

Why is it selfish to not want to be in other people’s company, even if they say that they like your company? You’ll have a better time without me, as I’m only a ghost when I am there. I contribute nothing.

What’s the point?

no

social exclusion

I’m a quiet person when put into a large group of people. Some people take this as me not being interested, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m an observer, I like listening to what people are saying, even if what they’re saying is disagreeable. The only time that I can talk is one-on-one, with somebody who isn’t superficial or judgemental. If I have nothing useful to contribute to a conversation, then I won’t say anything. I don’t like TV soaps, so can’t (and don’t want to) take part in mindless conversations about who is sleeping with who, and why doesn’t X move out as oooooh she’s too good for Y.

If I’m out in a big group and not interacting with anybody - then I’ll leave, usually without saying anything to anybody. I don’t like saying goodbye - I’d rather just disappear. I liken it to becoming invisible.

no energy

Here’s some holly:

Need to ingest some carbohydrate now, as running out of energy.
